Be Outstanding in Your Field
Taking Your Skills to the Next Level
At Holistic Management International (HMI) we believe the education of ranchers, farmers and land stewards is fundamental to the success of creating a sustainable future and there’s no better place to start than training natural resource professionals in Holistic Management® practices. By collaborating with agencies and organizations, we can enhance the effectiveness of professionals by adding more tools to their land resource management toolbox. HMI has provided professional development training and integration into existing resource management protocols to Cooperative Extension, NRCS, USFS, BLM, and producer educators. Many of these programs have been funded by the USDA as well as private foundations or by government contract.
A Tailored Approach to Whole Farm/Ranch Planning
These training programs are tailored to the unique needs of the entity requesting them and the time allotted. All of these programs are experiential and provide opportunity for creating financial and resource management plans as well as exploring issues of leadership, communication, and organizational structure.
NRCS Course Receives High Marks
HMI recently taught an Advanced Conservation Course to 25 NRCS agency professionals.
100% of participants increased their overall knowledge of Holistic Management practices
75% of respondents would recommend the event to others
Most indicated they are better positioned to integrate their knowledge of grazing and financial planning and decision making into their work with land owners
Enhanced Skills = Positive Outcomes
The purpose of these training sessions is to increase the industry professionals’ skill level in several significant areas. As a result they are better equipped to:
- Introduce producers to additional ways of managing their land
- Work more effectively with producers on every level (interpersonal skills)
- Work with producers to understand their farm/ranch goals and provide recommendations that will assist them in those goals
- Demonstrate the effectiveness of whole farm/ranch planning
- Address producer’s questions and concerns about planning issues
- Improve professional skills and increase the number of tools in the professional’s toolbox in areas of decision making and analysis, grazing planning, financial planning, biological monitoring, and land planning so they can become more effective in their positions
