The Learning Experience

Cropping Planning

Training and Coaching: Deepen your knowledge and practice teaching/coaching with your learning community. Receive feedback from your mentor and prepare lesson plans and reports.
Support and Resources: Work with HMI staff and your mentor, access the full HMI Curriculum, including PowerPoints, worksheets, templates, and webinars. Connect with HMI’s Educator network.
Application: To apply, demonstrate basic Holistic Management practice and training. Complete our 1-on-1 Learning program or an HMI-approved training.
Provide a letter of reference from a Certified Educator and have a learning community for practice.
Timeline:

Year One: Develop coaching opportunities, participate in monthly webinars, create a learning portfolio, complete a mid-term exam, and coach your learning community.

Year Two: Develop a portfolio, complete assignments, and undergo an oral portfolio review.
Certified Educator Benefits: Your contact info will be published on our website. Continue accessing resources, receive referrals, and participate in HMI contracts. Certified to teach and market yourself as an HMI Certified Educator. Certification is renewed annually.
What Our Certified Educators Do:
Teach at universities and schools
Offer educational programs from their farms
Provide consultation and coaching
Create companies offering management and financial planning
Work with international development organizations
Provide guidance in government agencies
Work for HMI in grant-funded projects
Achieve greater success on their farms
Cost: The program costs $4,000, covering training, materials, tests, portfolio evaluation, and mentoring. Additional travel, food, and lodging costs are the trainee's responsibility. Scholarships and fellowships are available after completing practitioner-level training.
