Holistic Management® Introductory Course
North Island
Starting 25 & 26 February 2019
Taupo, New Zealand

South Island
Starting 4 & 5 March 2019
Christchurch, New Zealand

Open to beginners and refreshers…

“The (full 8 day) course gave us a brilliant strategy for tying all the disparate parts of the business to a single focus. We find that the discovery process of HM, rather than a prescriptive 101 factsheet, arouses interest and curiosity.  The inherently flexible nature of HM means that if we get an undesired result, somewhere a wrong decision was made, not that the HM process itself was wrong” – Malc & Twix White, Puketitiri, Hawkes Bay

Who attends these workshops?

People who want to be proactive, prosperous, know what makes a business sustainable, fix causes of social, financial, and environmental problems, and be with progressive thinkers and doers.

What’s in it for you??

Create your own story linking production to ecology while sharpening business sense to improve profitability, lower risk, and ensure ongoing sustainability of your farm, business, and family.  Linking entrepreneurship and environment is vital to sustain family farms for future generations.

Learn to be proactive in minimizing any negative and reactive impacts your business may create as you generate the future you want.

Balance and enhance three key factors in every business:

You leave with a shared goal about the future of your business.  Relationships improve with more open and constructive communication by collaborating with holistic context creation, decision testing, and financial planning to inspire greater commitment by all involved.  The result is more creativity, cohesion, and cooperation with work, projects, holidays, and succession planning.

You leave with skills to put together an annual financial plan that compliments your shared context.  By paying yourself first and then allocating money left over to cover expenses you’ll find innovative ways to strengthen your business.  Only by prioritising expenses can you invest wisely in your business.  Identifying causes of business problems is key to continually strengthening it.

Major improvements in family, business, and property health by linking production actions to environment through a better understanding of how ecosystem processes assist to generate on farm wealth over the longer term.

“Holistic Management training was good for Sandy (David’s partner) to learn about the reality of farming with nature”.  David Fincham, Hawarden, North Canterbury.  OrganicNZ MAy-June 2018 p44

“The 8 day course is just an intro to the processes. Now going out and applying that knowledge highlights just how little we know, but have gained the courage to try and being prepared to fail is a strength of this course.” Gary Hayman and Maryanne Wright-Stevenson, Kawakawa
