A Seasion of Giving

Donate Button Yellow Large

At this time of the year, we often find ourselves counting our blessings while appreciating the gifts that we’ve been given.  Here at Holistic Management International, we’re no different.   Here are just a few of the gifts that we’re grateful for.

The Gift of Healthy Land

Healthy land is the result of the harmonious relationship between people, animals, and plants—the result of the joyous give and take of nature working together. Through Holistic Management, more people are enjoying partnering with nature rather than working against it—creating extraordinary results including healthier, more productive soil; improved wildlife habitat; and fresh, nutritious food.

The Gift of Healthy Food

At HMI we have seen the Holistic Management community grow each year as more people recognize that regenerative agriculture and a sustainable local food system requires both consumers and producers working together; supporting the work of creating healthy lands while producing the nutritious food that will feed communities across the globe. We all have a role to play as we work towards our ultimate gift: to bequeath a healthy planet and stewarding capability to future generations.

Your Gift is Important

Every season brings its own gift – each as distinctive as the land influenced by those seasons. Whether it comes in the form of winter snowfall, warm summer rain, abundant warmth and sunshine for plant growth, or the end of the growing season, when plants slowly decompose to feed the soil for next year’s harvest, each season has its own lessons, opportunities, and challenges – its own gifts. As the holiday season approaches, my thoughts turn toward all the gifts HMI has been blessed with over the years, gifts that have put us on track to reach our 20/20 vision of 20 million additional acres of healthy land by the year 2020. We can accomplish this goal by training 20,000 more farmers and ranchers in Holistic Management

The Gift of Knowledge

Your generous gifts have also allowed us to provide over $50,000 worth of scholarships since 2014. Rachael Shenyo, one of our scholarship recipients works as a specialist in integrated international development and climate change adaptation in the rural highlands of Central America. Her team specializes in bringing innovative solutions to pressing problems such as watershed degradation, food insecurity and crop loss. Here is what Rachael had to say after completing her classes:

“We have determined that holistic practices have great potential application for five key problem areas related to water, soil, terrain, agriculture, and forest management in fragile, stressed environments.”

A gift indeed.

Dr. Ann J. Adams, HMI Executive Director

HMI’s supporters continue to see their gift in action as communities around the world are experiencing healthier land, a thriving economy, and an increase in the production and availability of fresh, nutritious food.

With gratitude, Ann J. Adams HMI Executive Director

Thank you for your support, now and always.
