headshot-Kirk-Gadzia

If you are a livestock producer or land owner who would like to increase land productivity or wildlife habitat or improve land stewardship of your property, come to HMI's 2016 Gathering in Paicines, California.

Harnessing the Power of Livestock through Holistic Planned Grazing

Kirk Gadzia will present on how holistic planned grazing improves land health and productivity. Kirk owns and operates Resource Management Services, a training and consulting firm located in Bernalillo, New Mexico. He is a Certified Educator with Holistic Management International. Kirk has over 30 years’ experience teaching the concepts of Holistic Management and has taught over 500 Holistic Management training seminars and workshops internationally. The essence of Holistic Management Grazing Planning is figuring out

“how to get livestock to the right place at the right time for the right reasons”.

All three variables are dynamic and unique to each situation and management needs each year. Trying to cope with these variables without a precise and systematic planning process is very difficult to say the least. This presentation will focus on defining the core principles of plant physiology, growing and dormant season needs, forage inventory, stocking rate, stock density, and other factors that influence the development of each unique grazing plan. The Holistic Management grazing planning software will be demonstrated to illustrate how this tool can be utilized to improve and simplify the planning process. Examples of grazing planning which vary from 1 acre to several thousand acres will be shown in the presentation. Ample time will be allotted for presentation attendees to have the opportunity to ask questions or relate their own experiences with grazing planning following the presentation. Come learn how to heal the land and improve productivity at HMI's 2016 Gathering!
