If you take a look at our 2016 Annual Report, you'll see that w
e were able to train farmers, ranchers, and consumers in 18 countries, including Columbia, Iceland, Chile, Russia, Nigeria, and Belgium; confirming that farmers and ranchers everywhere continue to look for alternatives to conventional agricultural techniques. While the majority of training for these farmers and ranchers was completed via online and distance learning options offered, HMI also offered Open Gate events in five locations outside of the U.S.; Canada, Australia, Namibia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand. These events were greeted with enthusiasm from local farmers and ranchers, and well attended. In fact, our Namibia Open Gate event attracted 400 attendees, while our Queensland, Australia Open Gate attracted nearly 100 farmers and ranchers. We also have a strong Holistic Management community in Mexico, and plan on offering additional programs there in the near future.
As we continue to work to grow our programs and expand our reach globally, we are excited to see so many land stewards across the globe seeking alternatives to pesticides and antibiotics. In the coming months, we will be looking to our Holistic Management community to help us as we venture closer towards a more regenerative planet. Our mission remains to educate people in regenerative agriculture for healthy land and thriving communities. Won't you join us?
