Holistic Management Certified Educator Roland Kroos in Montana works a lot with both cattle and bison ranches. He mentions that many people continue to think that bison are impossible to manage. But he shared a great video produced by Ken Klemm in western Kansas showing just how easy it is for him to move 500 bison by himself (while filming the video). Ken attended several of Roland's Holistic Management seminars in the 90's and by moving this bison herd frequently is able to create ecologically healthy land. Low-stress animal handling skills are used often by many ranchers practicing holistic grazing planning. A great book to learn about this skill is Stockmanship: A Powerful Tool for Grazing Lands Management. You can order it on HMI's Store.
