New York Biological Monitoring Shows Results

Troy Bishopp custom grazes beef stockers near Deansboro, New York, and is the project leader for a Northeast-Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education professional development grazing training project. He also works for the Upper Susquehanna Coalition and Madison County, NY, SWCD. Consequently Troy spends a lot of his time on his hands and knees looking at the plants and soil condition on his property and the properties of other people who are monitoring their land with Troy's help. Troy shared with us the results of his monitoring which shows as steady increase in land health due to planned grazing. He was able to reduce bare soil from 20% down to 4% and increase earthworms from 80% to 100%. To learn more about his successes, see the table below.
