Organic Certification Explained--Val George Presents at HMI 2016 California Conference

Val George

Val George is the Farm Program Manager at California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) Certification Services, LLC. CCOF supports and promotes organic through certification, education, and advocacy. Val manages the Farm Program Certification staff, a department that provides organic certification services to over 3,000 crop and livestock farms. Prior to joining the CCOF team, Val worked in organic vegetable production at Full Belly Farm, and as a University of California-Davis Research Assistant for projects aimed at utilizing livestock grazing to control invasive weeds. Val earned her BS in Animal Science from California State University-Chico and her MS in Community, Food, and Agricultural Systems from Michigan State University.
