Our Beginning Women Farmers continue to inspire bloggers and receive press

We could not be more pleased with how our March Beginning Women Farmers Conference and the women who participated in our training program have inspired so many bloggers and members of the press. Here are a few more blogs and articles you should check out.

This blog features quotes from our own Dr. Ann Adams, Director of Education, and Chanya Sae-Eaw, a beginning farmer at Farmacy Gardens in Belchertown, Massachusetts.  We've also got a short video of Chanya speaking about how Holistic Management and participation in the program has made an impact on her.

Kristiane H wrote about how Allyson Angelini and Cheryl Placido, a part-time farmer and teacher were among twelve women who graduated from HMI's  Whole Farm Planning Program for Beginning Women Farmers on May 12, 2012 at the Community Farm of Simsbury.

In this post, Jessie Schmidt of University of Vermont’s Extension and an HMI program participant defines the Holistic Management process.  HMI COO Tracy Favre is quoted as well, "Holistic Management as a tool used to plan for a sustainable farm helps you prioritize your decisions based upon how they impact your big picture." Here what Jessie has to say about about the program....

HMI Beginning Farmers: Women in the Northeast program participant Angela Nelson from Daily Harvest Farm represents a growing trend in agriculture: women playing a leadership role in farming. Though women have always played important roles working alongside their husbands and children on the farm, a growing number of women like Nelson are founding and operating their own farms.
