A recent article on the Business and Sustainable Development Commission website noted that noted how new research shows that investment in sustainable business models would generate 80 million jobs across 14 different aspects of sustainable agriculture including food waste, low-income markets, aquaculture, farming technology, restoring land and forests, and urban agriculture. Moreover, that investment would return seven fold by 2030.
Lord Mark Malloch-Brown, Chair of the Business and Sustainable Development Commission said, “As the world’s population is expected to increase by another one billion by 2030, the global food and agriculture system requires a new way of doing business, and new approaches to feed more than 800 million people who today suffer from chronic hunger as well as to meet future demand.”
