HMI was pleased to learn there is a new short video out that shares the good work of the long-time Holistic Management practitioners of Bamberger Ranch. This journey began almost 50 years ago when David Bamberger, ex-CEO of Church's Chicken, purchased this 5,500-acre ranch that had been degraded through overgrazing. He and his team have made it their lives' work to restore this landscape through a multitude of good land management practices, including Holistic Management, and creating an educational center to help others learn about these practices and the increased biodiversity and water conservation that has resulted from these efforts.
The staff at the Bamberger Ranch has done numerous animal counts to assess increased biodiversity, and in the video above you can see more about the bird conservation work that resulted in increase numbers of a host of species including endangered species like the Golden Cheek Warbler and the Black Capped Vireo. In addition their species count at the ranch has shown a species increase of approximately 500% as they have increased land productivity by 250%.
Visit HMI's Video Profiles Page and Soil and Conservation Page to learn about how other Holistic Management practitioners are increasing biodiversity and improving wildlife habitat.
