The Nature Conservancy's Rancher Survey

The Nature Conservancy's (TNC’s) North America Grazing Lands Program supports ranchers in developing resilient and profitable operations and is in the process of surveying ranchers to learn about their monitoring and data needs to support ranch management.

The purpose of this study is to validate and refine a set of indicators that are relevant and feasible for ranchers to collect and monitor, and that can support ranch management, reporting to agencies and market actors, and storytelling to consumers and the public. TNC will use the results of this study to build a grazing lands monitoring toolkit that can support ranchers and other actors in the supply chain in selecting planning and monitoring approaches that are efficient and impactful.

The survey is intended for ranch and rangeland owners, operators, and employees. The survey should take about 20 minutes to complete, and you can opt into a random drawing for a $50 gift card as a way to say thank you. Participation in the survey is voluntary and all responses will be kept strictly confidential.

At the end of the survey, people can also opt-in to participating in a follow-up focus group or interview. If you are interested in participating in a focus group or an interview, but you are not interested in completing the survey, you can provide your contact information here: https://s.alchemer.com/s3/9f005aa83b71.
