The Terry Gompert Scholarship Funds Holistic Management® Training

At HMI, we believe that everyone should have access to regenerative farming and ranching education no matter what their financial situation is.  We don't view this as a hand-out, but a hand-up. That's why we're so proud of our Terry Gompert Scholarship Fund, which helps to fund training for farmers and ranchers currently practicing Holistic Management or who plan to do so in the near future.  Terry Gompert was a long-time Holistic Management Certified Educator who passed away in March of 2011. Terry was a tireless educator whose passion was to reach the next generation so that sustainable agriculture would grow and flourish. He dedicated his life to teaching others about the importance of locally grown foods, family farms and sustainable agriculture. An Extension Educator for the University of Nebraska in Knox County as well as a knowledgeable grassfed beef producer, Terry was instrumental in the training of many other HMI Certified Educators, as well as providing workshops and other educational events for agricultural producers throughout the Midwest. His work also included efforts on the Grassfed Exchange and the Carbon Coalition. The Terry Gompert Scholarship Fund offers both needs-based and merit-based awards, and applicants may receive full or partial funding for the program they choose.  Last year HMI awarded over $15,000 worth of scholarships to farmers and ranchers. The scholarship can be applied to any of the following HMI training programs:

Training our current and next generation of farmers and ranchers was Terry's passion, and his scholarship allows us to keep his passion alive.  We hope you apply today!
