Blue Spoon Farm
Growing ABGA registered Boer goats since 2011 and Fat & Fluffy sheep since 2015 for breeding stock and meat. Livestock are also available for public appearances for events. Vegetables are also sold in season. A work-share is available.
The Blue Spoon Farm is striving to be sustainable and green. Inputs are purchased locally from neighbors when available. Animals are raised humanly, following the standards set by Certified Humane. All parts of the animal are processed into useful objects. Jacalyn Spoon, farm owner, received HMI training in 2009-10 through a Beginning Women Farmer Program. Jacie is also a librarian working an off-farm job by day and homesteading by night. Seeing life as a whole has helped her maintain a work-life balance.
