With sustainable farming & ranching, everyone wins

but, only with your help.

Help a farmer learn how to grow healthy food

Help a farmer learn how to grow healthy food

With sustainable farming and ranching everyone wins. When land is healthy, it helps improve water and air quality, while providing fresh, local food. All sorts of animals benefit from this type of stewardship, including wildlife and pollinators such as hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies.

Your gift to HMI directly supports our efforts to teach farmers and ranchers Holistic Management ®, a whole farm/ranch planning system that improves environmental health, sustains economic viability, and enhances the quality of life for farm and ranch communities.

Donate Button Green LargeIn addition, your gift also helps sustain the local food movement, which plays a vital role in the success of farmers and ranchers. In turn, these agricultural producers provide local populations with readily available fresh, healthy food.  This thriving local food movement then stimulates local economies.

The success of our programs relies on your generous support.  In fact, we couldn’t do it without you.

Whether you choose to support a specific program, or want your contribution used where it’s most needed, please know that your generosity will create a legacy for years to come.pig

And that’s good
for all of us!

Leave a Lasting Legacy

Remembering HMI with a bequest from your estate will help sustain and strengthen our organization today and for generations to come. HMI’s Legacy Fund supports both program and community outreach, along with growth of our organization. You can choose to leave a portion of your estate to our organization, or designate HMI as a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy. Charitable Remainder Trusts are also an option. There are many ways to leave a lasting legacy through your estate plans, and we’re always available to answer any questions you may have.

Recurring Giving

Our new recurring giving option allows donors to make a monthly gift to HMI. Just let us know the amount, and we’ll process it automatically. Monthly gifts help to provide a consistent income for HMI,allowing us to spend more dollars on making an impact on agricultural communities and the land and less on printed mailings and other outreach efforts.

Matching Gifts

Donate Button Green LargeDoes your company offer a matching charitable contribution program? If so, your gift could have twice the impact! Check with your company to see if they will match your contribution.

Other Giving Options

Now you can donate your car, truck, motorcycle, SUV, RV, boat, or farm equipment to HMI. Other giving options include making a gift of stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares that are worth more now than when originally purchased. Typically, these donations will deliver more tax benefits to you than a gift of cash. You can also choose to deed your home, farm, or other property to HMI in a life estate.

Why We Give

Sallie Calhoun, Holistic Management Practitioner, California

Sallie Calhoun, Paicines, CA

“I am fascinated by the possibilities of restoring grasslands through management. This is an idea that I just cannot let go of. Since I started actively ranching, I have also learned a lot about  challenges facing farmers and ranchers. To me, Holistic Management is an important set of tools and a way of looking at land and thinking about its management. I support HMI to help spread that knowledge to more land managers.

Ron-Chapman, HMI donor, baord

Ron Chapman, Atlanta, GA

“Many years ago I began giving to HMI because of what I heard from a number of ranchers and farmers: ‘Holistic Management saved our land, saved our ranch and saved our family.’ Nothing could be more convincing than their experience.”

Alice Ball Struck. HMI donorAlice Ball Struck, San Antonio, TX

“I give to HMI to show my thanks for all the help HMI has given our ranches. HMI has enabled our pastures to survive, and look good, during this drought!”
